Levana

Is a partial (incomplete) selective agonist of GABA A receptor complex. Belongs to the group of benzodiazepines, shows a strong hypnotic, anxiolytic, muscle relaxant and anticonvulsant moderate effect; enhances the effect of sleeping pills, narcotic and neuroleptic drugs, ethanol. Feature of hypnotic action of the drug is its ability to increase the duration of slow-not only, but also of REM sleep with a constant amount of its episodes, which makes the hypnotic effect of the drug more than physiological.
